Blueboy is correct but actually you don't get a visa. It's a stamp in your passport which is a 30 day visa exemption for tourists. If you enter the Kingdom by land, you can only do this twice in any 12 month period, but if by air, then you can do that multiple times.

I've been in Thailand since the 5th of March and since I'm British I was granted the free 30 day visa upon entry. My plan is to stay in Thailand until April 15th when I fly to LA but that would mean I need 12 extra days on my visa.
