I bought one from Granberg - 12v dremmel-like, mounts on the bar. I could sharpen on the saw, as well as off of it. I had a few spare used bars (one 24 and one 14inch) that I would put in a vise and was then able to sharpen a bunch of chains of various sizes and different angles that had accumulated over time, without putting on the saw .

I just purchased a Oregon 520-120 and I like it very much. It works great!! The $99 sharpener is pretty much just like to one I have, there might be a few minor differences, but it is a lot like it. The $99 one look like it is adjustable for all the angles you need. It doesn't look like the $59 sharpener can adjust properly.

I sharpened 10 Carlton 3/8 full chisel chains, A1, last night. The Oregon book showed 25, 60, and 80 degree angles. Most of these chains just needed touched up and the 25 angle didn't match very well. 30 matched decent on the left cutter, but the right cutter didn't completely come clean.

And now the confusion (as usual for me). The tech sheet enclosed with the Stihl chains shows 90 degrees for both the RSC and RMC chains. At the Oregon site and the 511A manual, it shows 10 degree tilt for the BPX (rounded, semi chisel) and 90 degrees for the LPX (square corner chisel).

Stone srarpening goes pretty fast, maybe 5 minutes per saw. After a while the angles get a tad off though. I would look for a bar mount file guide (Granberg File-N-Joint) way cheaper than an FG2. If you come to the conclusion filing sucks, then look for a grinder. If you conclude that filing is the only way to get the edge you seek, then hunt down a FG2 at a price you can afford.

If my cheapo grinder ever fails, I would upgrade to the hydraulic assist. There are 5 steps in grinding a chain. 1) Loosen the chain clamp, 2) move the chain, 3) tighten the chain clamp, 4) lower the motor&stone to grind 5) raise the motor&stone. With the hydraulic you would remove 1&3, and it would all occur that much quicker and simpler.
