I just joined the forum as I am the new owner of an OLD Allis Chalmers forklift, Model ACC-55 L PS. I have been trying to locate Technical Manuals or Maintenance Manuals for this this unit, but I have been unsuccessful. I also want to determine the year it was created, but there is no date on the data plate (see image below).

Jun 7, 2019. #1. No, the engine is not the same as a B or C. You likely have a Buda 153 cubic inch. I'd call them 'cousins" to the A-C's as there is a lot of resemblance. Allis Chalmers bought out the Buda engines somewhere in the 50's is my understanding. Literature on forklifts seems a bit scarce as hens' teeth.

Second Opinion] Small Allis-Chalmers Forklift Model ACC 30 LPS What type of hydraulic fluid does the lift use. Forklift also has 'automatic transmission' (forward & reverse with no 'clutch' - does the hydraulic lift share the same fluid and 'where' is the reservoir. Sorry for long question

When we shut it off and tried to restart it wouldn't. I think it may be the Fuel Solenoid Valve as I have no fuel to the Impco carb when trying to start.

I have a AC acc45 ps forklift that i am trying to get back running after a complete engine, transmission and hydraulics overhaul. I supposedly has a continetal g153 engine. Can use your existing 12V coil (if it is internally resisted) with no difficulty. An external ballast resistor in-line will allow one to use the 6V coil with the 12V ignition (altho the reliability of the external resistor is not too good).
