So my metal trash can separator kept getting crushed in & i had to brace it with a bunch of scrap wood. I was filling it up so quick with the lost space of braces & the baffle I decided to build one out of a 55 gallon steel drum. Found a drum with a lid and clamp for $20 (less than the garbage can). Hole sawed out two 4" holes through the lid.

I chose this "Trash Can Cyclone Lid" with 4" input and output. I got a "Central Machinery 13 gal. 1 HP Industrial Portable Dust Collector" from Harbor Freight with 4" intake. A "Jet JW1031 4-Inch by 10-Feet Black Dust Collection Hose" (cut into 2 equal lengths) and a "POWERTEC 70101 4-Inch Wire Hose Clamp, 5-Pack".
