Particle–bubble interaction and attachment in flotation

A key concept in the estimation of the probability of particle–bubble attachment is the induction time, t ind, which was first articulated by Sven-Nilsson (1934). Fundamentally the induction period accounts for thinning and drainage of the film of liquid interposed between the particle and the bubble, until rupture of the film occurs.
